What to Expect at Chordata Canine Rehabilitation

Getting Started: Veterinary Consent
Before your first visit, we require veterinary consent to ensure that chiropractic care is appropriate for your dog. Your vet will need to fill out and sign a consent form, which you can then email back to us. We’ll upload this consent form to our system so that all the necessary information is ready for your visit.
VETERINARY CONSENT FORM
The Initial Consultation
Your first consultation with Dr Stuart will last about an hour. During this time, we’ll ask detailed questions about your dog’s health history, any previous investigations, and current symptoms. If your dog has had x-rays or MRI scans, Dr Stuart may request to view these images personally, thanks to his radiographic and radiological background . This thorough approach helps us understand your dog’s condition and determine the best treatment plan.
Orthopedic and Neurological Examination
Dr Stuart will perform a comprehensive orthopedic and neurological examination to assess your dog’s condition. This examination is crucial for identifying any issues and deciding on the appropriate treatment. If further investigations are needed, Dr Stuart will refer your dog back to your vet to ensure they receive the best possible care.
The Chiropractic Treatment Room
We have a dedicated, clean, and comfortable space specifically for canine care. This is where all examinations and initial treatments take place. We want your dog to feel safe and at ease during their visit.
Hands-On Chiropractic Adjustments
During your dog’s appointment, Dr Stuart will perform hands-on chiropractic adjustments. These adjustments aim to increase mobility and improve the function of any restricted motion segments. Our gentle and precise techniques ensure your dog receives the most effective care.
Tailored Rehabilitation Exercises
After the initial examination and adjustments, Dr Stuart will prescribe specific rehabilitation exercises and any necessary restrictions tailored to your dog’s needs. We’ll explain each exercise in detail to ensure you feel confident in helping your dog at home. To support you further, you’ll receive automated emails with photos and videos of the prescribed exercises.
Follow-Up Care
For the best results, follow-up care typically involves 1-2 visits per week for the first 4-6 weeks. During these visits, we closely monitor your dog’s progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed. This approach ensures that your dog continues to improve and move toward a happier, more active life.
